I miss Emma so much. They all went to a family reunion in Colorado this past week. I have been busy though, getting ready for a friend to visit, so I have kept myself occupied pretty easy.
I talked with Emma yesterday, she was so excited to hear my voice. She misses her “awww” that is what she calls me… short for Grandmaw.
So let’s catch up on what Emma has been doing so far. She is 9 months old now and Jordan keeps talking about things she will be doing in 3 months… “She will learn about birthday parties in 3 months”… “She will be walking in 3 months”… Three months isn’t that long of time and she will be a year old, a toddler instead of a baby. I am going to cherish these 3 months every chance I get. That isn’t surprising though since I have cherished every moment I have had with her since her birth. I am one lucky grandma to be able to see her so often. I love her so much.
Emma is learning to stand, if she had confidence she would be. She stands up to things and lets go, only to plop herself down. I think it is almost time for her to get a walk behind toy that she can push. That is the only way I got Jordan to walk.
I will write more when they are home and have some pictures of their trip.

Emma gave her daddy a tooth for his birthday also. She now has 5 teeth through, ready to get her other eye tooth, probably today. She has her own unique way of giving birthday presents, doesn’t she?
Earlier this week when Jordan was out of town for school, I was talking with Kevin on the phone while feeding Emma her lunch. Emma looked at the phone and said “dadd?” It was so cute. I told her “no it is grandpa” I think she was wanting to talk to her daddy on the phone. She started saying “dad” and “dadd-e” pretty well this week. When we were shopping she went around the store saying “dadd-e” Brianna doesn’t think it is fair that she isn’t saying “mommy” yet. I keep reminding her that she said it months ago while we were at the doctor office and Brianna went back to the exam room while we waited in the waiting room. She said it doesn’t count if she didn’t get to hear it.
Emma is pulling herself up on things all the time now. She will be standing alone before we know it, then off to walking before terrorizing the dog by learning to run after her. Tara already is getting a bit competitive with Emma. She wanted the blanket I made Emma, so I had to make her one, just to get her to leave Emma’s alone. She also loves to jump up and cuddle with me, then look at Emma like “ha ha… I have her now” Emma doesn’t know what to think of Tara on my lap, she looks at her with her eyebrows drawn together and goes between glaring and starting to laugh.
Emma went to the Hulett rodeo and parade. She rode in the parade with her Grandma Marla. I bought her a pink cowboy hat and pink cowboy boots for the event. She doesn’t leave the hat on though.
We went to see Aunt Cassie on Thursday. She sure loves her Aunt Cass. Cassie never hardly put her down the whole day. It was funny watching Cassie trying to feed Emma. Emma loves to look around in new surroundings so she wasn’t paying attention to Cassie’s feeding and by the time they were done, she was a total mess. She loves pickles we found out. Cassie gave her a bit off a pickle spear.
Emma is the apple of my eye, never far from my thoughts and always in my heart.

Happy Birthday to Brianna, her first as a mommy. Emma celebrated it with her by getting one more tooth, her top right. They went out to lunch with Grandma Marla and Grandpa Ron, she enjoyed sharing in her mom’s chicken and some baby food. This was after she shared some mashed potatoes with me. Emma loves her food.
Emma is so funny. She makes sure we have plenty of laughs. The other night while I was working, they were over at my house visiting Grandpa Kevin. Tara went to the door and barked to go out, Kevin let her out. Emma, who never misses a thing, crawled to the door and said “ar ar” trying to bark like the dog to go out. It didn’t work for her though.
Emma has a little yellow lion that has a spinner on the front, showing night time and day time. She loves the lion and will “roar” with it. I have noticed that she doesn’t like the night time song as well, probably because she doesn’t like sleeping, so she turns the wheel to the day time pictures. We tease her by putting it on the night time one, then she changes it again.
Another thing Emma does that I think is so funny is that she won’t poo in wet diapers. She will wait until you put a clean one on then go… and sometimes she stops then waits for a clean one to finish up. She should be easy to potty train.
Jordan and Brianna took her to the fish hatchery. She loved the ducks. They said she would laugh and laugh at them cleaning themselves. She makes everything seem so much more enjoyable. What a precious baby she is.
