September 21, 2009

Emma is almost 3 years old. She is growing up more and more all the time. Last week I took her to Church and Sunday school for the first time. I am the pre school teacher for Sunday school and she felt she was soo big now that she gets to go to school. As we were walking into the church I told her "now in church we have to be very very quiet." She looked up at me with all her grown up stance and said "yes, we don't want to wake anyone up!" What a silly girl.

Her birthday party is going to be Carebears. She is so worried about not getting a carebear birthday cake, she is afraid it will ruin her party. Walmart doesn't do the care bears and I was getting concerned when we couldn't find anything carebears at any of the stores we went to. I ordered the birthday supplies off the internet last month. Aunt Cassie came to the rescue though, she called around in Gillette and found Albertson has 2 different carebear cakes they do. So she is ordering it and picking it up saturday.

Cassie was cutting Brianna's hair and she was cutting it pretty short when Emma came in and watched. Cassie asked if Emma liked her mom's hair cut and Emma answered "yes... it's just like daddy's!" Brianna about panicked asking just how short Cassie was cutting it!

We took Emma in for her 3 year old pictures today. She was in a different kind of mood and when we asked her to smile she would press her lips together in a fake smile. I tried making faces at her (she just made them back) we tried singing and playing around and being silly, but she would give us that fake smile or move her hands out of the pose. Even with all the challenges, I was happy to see how all the pictures turned out. She is one photographic child. Such a beauty.

Emmalyne showing off her braids.

Bailey and Emma playing in the wagon... yes that is a pair of shorts on Emma's head and No I don't know why! They were having such a good time with it though I had to get a picture.

Emma always wants me to draw pictures for her so I told her I was drawing her.
I made a monkey and she argued with me saying It isn't her, she isn't a monkey..lol

I really need to write in this more often. I know I am missing a lot that Emma has been saying and doing... so I will try to recap some of the interesting and funny things that has happened in the past month.
Jordan is working out of town, so I don't see Emma as often. When we do get together she is very fun and so loveable. She has such different ways of looking at things and a memory like you wouldn't believe.. for most things.

Aunt Skye and Bailey came over one day and stayed for supper. Emma mentioned at supper that when she gets out of bed at night "her voices tell her to get back in bed" Skye asked if she hears voices in her head and Emma replied "no.. they are my voices in my room". She would hear Brianna and Jordan yell for her to get back in bed but not realize that it was them. I am sure she doesn't realize that they can hear her up playing when all is quiet. I asked her if the voices sounds familar at all and she said "no.. they are ghosts"

Emma, Brianna, Jordan, Cassie and Tom all went camping over the labor day weekend. She talked to me on the phone all excited. She told me it was fun out there and that they had "two campers!" I said "there is two campers?" she replied "yes, ours and Cassies and Toms" It dawned on me then she was talking about the tents. She also told me that she was scared of the water and that it was cold.

We started Sunday school yesterday. I am the preschool teacher but she was the only one in class yesterday. I picked her up and she told me how she was such a big girl now. She is getting big so fast, that is for sure. While walking in church I told her that she had to be very very quiet
in church. She said as grown up as she could muster "yes.. we don't want to wake anyone up!" The minister loved that one. She enjoyed Sunday school and was able to tell her mom about Joseph and his new coat and that his brothers were angry because Joseph got bossy. I had told her that in the dreams he dreamt that he was boss over his brothers and everyone. I didn't know how else to explain the dreams of the brothers bowing down at his feet and they were angry at him thinking he was above them. She was very proud of the coat she colored for Joseph. Hopefully there will be more children there this Sunday. She also had a bit of problem sitting quietly during prayer. When we had the potluck afterwards, the minister told me that there is 3 things you love hearing in a sermon. First is Amen, Second is a baby crying (or in this case, a small ones voice) and third is the sounds of a check being torn from the check book." He is a good minister with a great sense of humor.
Emma spent the day with me yesterday and then Brianna came to eat supper with us. Emma was very worn out by the time they left, she about broke my heart. I bet she was sleeping before they pulled out of the driveway.

I can't believe that she is going to be 3 in just 13 days. She is growing up so fast and I am getting that feeling that we need to get her pictures taken again but I can't afford it right now so it will have to wait until October or November.... if I can wait that long!
