January 25, 2010

Emma’s life is changing and it makes me so sad. Her parents have split up and it isn’t easy for anyone, especially Emma. She doesn’t like daddy staying here. She tells me she doesn’t get to see him if he stays here. She does like coming over and spending time with him and she gets his total attention playing Barbie’s and such. She makes daddy be the girl Barbie though. My heart breaks for her. I pray that Jordan and Brianna can work things out with time, but if they can’t I do hope that both always keep things civil for Emma.

Emma is creative and such a smart little thing. She always surprises me with her unique fun ways. We were looking at a page that has letters on it and I challenged her to find the letters in her name. She found the E and a M right away but was trying to find another M when she noticed the W. I told her that it was a W not a M and she said “Yes it is a M, see?” and turned the page upside down!

She is doing really well with the V Motion she got for Christmas. She gets a bit frustrated with some of the moves but does really well with others. She is into games and I bought her a Toy Story Yatzee game. She calls it her “Hotsie Yatzee” game. She loves playing Candy Land and Match games. She always wins against me.

She slept in her castle this past weekend when she spent the weekend here with Jordan. I slept on the couch so she wasn’t alone. In the middle of the night she got scared and came out to sleep with me on the couch but there wasn’t room for both of us so she slept on top of me. She got a better sleep then I did I believe.

She is into telling “Ghost” stories. She gets a flashlight and holds it under her chin. She always tells a funny story and when I act scared she says, “don’t be scared it’s just a story”. She was telling me one the other night about the castle being locked and she needed a vampire key to open it. I asked, “Is it a vampire key or a skeleton key?” She decided a skeleton key was better.

When we went down to Aunt Wanda’s funeral she was so good. She really enjoyed staying the night in the hotel but when I turned off the TV she got mad at me and went to sleep in the other bed with her mommy. Guess that was my punishment.

She noticed Grandpa Kevin’s bald spot for the first time. She was horrified by it. She said, “Grandpa, what happened to your hair? There is a hole in it!” I told her he drank to much beer! She really wondered about my uncle Dan’s hair or lack of it. Her remark was “You have a bigger hole in your hair”

I had some pineapple and she wanted some. She said “yummy grandma, I like applepine!”

She picked out some red shiny material when we were looking at fabric. Brianna thinks it is ugly but I think she is a princess and needs the sparkly shiny things. I bought a yard of it and am making her a shirt out of it. I will put a white lace butterfly on it and then make some white Capri’s and put a red lace butterfly on them. It will be a cute outfit for her. How much you want to bet she will want to wear it before spring though. She knows exactly what she wants and is pretty insistent on getting it.

At Sunday school we learned about the two women at the well. How they didn’t like the lady who came because she did naughty things but Jesus still loves her even though she did naughty things. Emma informed me, “Jesus doesn’t love Kaydence though”. I said “Yes, He does” and she said “No because she wouldn’t let me color on my doll and that was mean” Emma has a doll that came with markers and you color on it then throw it in the wash. I kept telling Emma that Jesus does love Kaydence, but she is pretty certain that He doesn’t.

Oh and then she was telling me how she went to the ear dentist and she said that she had an ear infection. I love how she sees things.
I love Emma with all my heart and wish I could make things right for her.
