The Wedding August 25, 2007

August 28, 2007

The wedding is over, Jordan and Brianna are married. Emma and Kaydence made beautiful flower girls and Trey was a fantastic ring bearer. Emma got to meet her Great-Great Grandmother and her Grandpa Ky. I don’t think they got to hold her much since Aunt Cassie hogs her whenever she is around. It was a nice and fast ceremony.

Emma has done a few new things this past week or so. She started standing on her own. She also got in her first, first year molar. She has also started using the ledge on the wood burning stove in the living room (we never use it) as a chair and is as proud as can be when she can sit there with her feet flat on the floor. She just giggles when she sits on it, then she will stand, then sit back down. Makes her feel like such a big girl.

We went to Walmart Monday. When I got her out of the car seat and headed into the store, she looked up and seen where we were and got all excited and said “Walmart!” just as plain as can be. It was so funny.
She likes my niece Laura. She started calling her “Laurla” It was so cute.
Aunt Terri bought her a Pooh bear water baby for her birthday. Terri won’t be here for it so she took Emma to the toy aisle to see what she likes. I told her she isn’t into the dolls and such, but likes the interactive toys with the bells and whistles and lights. She was going to get her a electronic book that Emma loves to play with and the water baby for Emilee. Emma grabbed onto that water baby and wouldn’t let go though, so Terri picked out another one for Emilee and gave Emma the pooh bear one. I bought her the book anyway.

Emma stayed over night with me on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. I thought she would start getting fussy but she didn’t until Monday morning. She didn’t wake up with her usual ear to ear grin so I figured she was missing her mom and dad. She seen them Saturday during the wedding and a short time at the car wash on Sunday after we got back from Rapid City. When Brianna came in on Monday morning, Emma gave her some loves then went on to play with her toys. When Jordan drove up though, she crawled to the door and laughed and smiled. Brianna was a bit put out that she was more excited to see Jordan, but I think it is more on how Jordan and Emma interact compared to how Brianna and Emma interact. Jordan gets her excited with his voice and how he teases her, Brianna, like me, gives her loves and a much calmer greeting, so in turn she also gives us a much calmer greeting. In any case I am glad that she is comfortable enough with me and my house that she can stay here without getting upset.

Brianna is going to become a homemaker for a while. I will miss Emma being here each morning, but I think that there is nothing that compare to a mom being with her baby full time. I hope they can keep within their budget to afford this.

Such excitement. Emma has a brand new baby cousin. His name is Aiden Lee. This is the first great grandson, second great grandchild for Grandma Eda and Grandpa Don. Shelby and Trent had a baby boy tomorrow! It is pretty cool how this worked. Pam Called and told me that the baby was born, 6 lbs and 7.8 oz. Born at 12:30 something am on August 10, 2007. So now I called the kids to tell them Shelby had her baby boy... tomorrow! I am so excited for them all. Even though they live in Michigan, it will be wonderful to have another baby in the family. Congrats to Shelby and Trent!

Emma had quite the week last week. We went to Spearfish and Brianna was fitted into her wedding dress, which Emma and I took the advantage of trying on the tiaras they had there. I would put one on Emma and show her in the mirror, saying “look you’re a princess!” She would just grin ear to ear. We went shopping afterwards and I didn’t even buy her a toy, poor baby. I think it bothered me more then it did her though. Grandpa made up for it when he went to Spearfish on Saturday and bought her a Little Tyke castle with a swing and a slide and a telescope and ship steering wheel. She loves the slide, the telescope and the wheel is her favorite, but she doesn’t seem to thrilled with being buckled into a swing. She never really liked her infant swing either though.

Thursday I babysat Justin’s daughters, Skylee age 5 and Emilee who will be 2 on the 22. Emma loves watching them. She didn’t know what to think of Emilee who would take her toys away and say “no baby, mine” and hit her. I finally threatened time out if she hit Emma again. Emma never got upset with Emilee until she wouldn’t let her push the buttons on her car. She was willing to share anything, but would not let her keep her away from the car. She had much to say to Emilee on that, what… I am not sure, but I could tell she was giving her the low down. One thing seeing a little person stand, run, walk and jump did was made Emma want to do all that too. I couldn’t get her to crawl for a lot of the day. I had to hold her up while she tried to stomp on the bubbles, like Emilee and Skylee did, and walk her around. Brianna said she is starting to stand on her own now and can stand for a full minute before she gets nervous and sits herself down. I bet she will be taking some steps when they get back this weekend. Lord give me the energy to keep up with a busy little runner!

Saturday was the parade for the Crook County Fair and rodeo. She really enjoyed that. Grandpa Kevin held her and she got so excited over seeing the horses she tried jumping out of his arms. Then they started throwing candy to her. Oh, if that wasn’t exciting… Daddy gave her a sucker and Grandpa was enjoying holding her and all until she started slobbering all that sucker juice down on him. He started panicking and saying “ewww… take her … take her… ewwww!” It was so funny. I don’t think he realizes he is washable yet!

Great Grandpa Lee had his 1992 Camero in the parade and afterwards he stopped by to say hi and Emma thought it was loads of fun “driving” the convertible. She would just look at me and laugh.
This is Sturgis Rally week so Brianna and Emma are staying in Hulett to help with Ham and Jam. I will miss Emma, but she will have Grandma and Grandpa Waugh and Grandma Neil to spoil her, along with a few aunts and uncles and little cousins to play with.
