Emma is so funny. She had Kaydence stay the night last Friday night. Allison dropped her off here since Brianna and Emma was here. They came inside to play and Kaydence was playing with the dishes, pots and pans and kitchen set. Emma isn’t so good at sharing yet so when she was going to take something away I said “Kaydence is playing with that, wait your turn ok?” Emma looked at me but left it alone. As soon as Kaydence was done with the dishes, Emma went and got her container for them and started picking them all up and putting them away. Grandpa looked at her in shock since she isn’t known to put her toys away very well. I said “don’t get to excited, she is doing it to keep Kaydence from playing with them, it is easier to keep them all in the container and keeping hold of it.” Who would have thought a 1 year old could figure that all out!!
They took the trees down in front of our house for the road work. This really bothers Emma. She was so bothered by it the other day I had to close the curtains just to calm her down! Then she took Grandpa to the other window and pointed out letting him know she didn’t like it dark. She wanted him to turn on the light again, I suppose so she could go out to play. Kevin kept telling her he can’t turn on the light (the sun), but she was being kind of insistent. Brianna said it bothered her when a Robin kept flying into Grandma Neil’s window and maybe that had something to do with her attention to the dark windows.
Yesterday we went to Spearfish. Her great grandma and grandpa Karlson was there. It was nice to see them again and for them to get to see Emma, although it took her a bit to figure out who they were. Emma is such a good baby, but she was ready to be done shopping before we were. When she seen the checkout stands she started pointing to them, letting me know she wanted to check out and go. Brianna was trying on a swimming suit so we went to read some books while she did that. Afterwards we went through the drive through at Dairy Queen for an Ice cream cone. Emma thought that was a wonderful thing. She was so excited, she would giggle and say “mmmm”. It was so cute. Then it got quiet in the back seat so I looked back and she was sound asleep with the ice cream cone held tightly in her little hand. Her mouth and nose was covered with ice cream. I couldn’t help but laugh. She is such a sweet baby.
