Emma is growing so fast. She is trying to crawl, but just doesn’t get the movement yet. She will get it soon though. She is so cute.
I gave her a small piece of an Andies mint last night. She wasn’t impressed. When I tried to give her another small piece she clamped her mouth closed and shook her head “no”. I didn’t even know that she knew what “No” meant! I think she has been holding out on us!
She is such a busy baby. She is always on the move… maybe we shouldn’t be encouraging the crawling yet. Yesterday I had her on the floor in the living room and went down to change the laundry. When I got back up there she was screaming because she had got herself stuck under the ottoman. She rolls wherever she wants to go.
I open the bottom drawer where all her toys are and she loves that. She can pick out whatever she wants to play with that way. She is so cute, she will play with one thing, then put it back and take out something else. Then she figured that if she didn’t put it back in the drawer, she can see what else is in there better.
She has both the dog and cat staying clear of her now. She is a bit rough with them. She likes to grab hair. Tara will sneak up behind her and lick her ears, but if Emma’s hands are close, she will hold a safe distance from her.
She is in 9 month clothes right now. We have been buying her summer clothes in size 12 months since she is so long.

Emma’s first Easter was yesterday. She really enjoyed herself. The Easter Bunny came to Grandma’s house. She was spoiled big time. Her favorite is the Up Up Elmo. It is so cute but it when it says “Elmo wants up up” it sounds like “Emma wants up up”. Jordan is worried that she will be irritating by picking up that little saying. Brianna told me she won’t go anywhere without Elmo now. Her eyes sure lit up when she seen the Easter baskets!
We went to Great Grandma Eda and Great Grandpa Don’s for dinner. There she got to try potatoes, strawberries and a few other things. She seems to really like table food.
Great Aunt Pam was there with her little dog, Speckles. Speckles really loved Emma but Tara was pretty protective of her baby and would herd her away from Emma when she got to close. It was really funny to watch. Pam finally got down on the floor with Emma so Speckles could see what she is all about. Emma would just laugh and laugh at Speckles. She even grabbed a hold of her and tried to bite her once. I guess she thought that a wiener dog is the same thing as a hot dog. Speckles never got upset even with the rough handling. She will be good with Pam’s new grandbaby when he or she is born in August.
Jordan and Brianna and Emma went to Brianna’s family’s house after Don and Eda’s. There Emma got another Easter Basket with some really cute stuffed animals in it. The frog and duck that make sounds is just as cute as can be. Tara was a bit jealous and let it be known that the frog one should be hers, but we wouldn’t let her have it of course. There was also some M & M’s and a chocolate bunny that Emma tried. She wasn’t too sure about the M & M’s but she loved the chocolate bunny!
Tonight she was on the floor and Grandpa Kevin was blowing bubbles for her (and the cat, who likes to watch them also) when she worked herself up on her hands and knees and took one crawl before falling down on her face. The look on Jordan’s face was priceless… he just looked at her in disbelief. I bet they are at home now trying to get her to crawl again. I am sure she will be before the week is out.
