Emma’s Great-Great Grandma passed away this week. My prayers go out to the family. I am glad that we had the 5 generation pictures taken at the wedding and will get copies out to family members when we get them back.
While Brianna and Jordan went to the funeral, I kept Emma for the day. We went to Upton to visit Grandpa Don and Grandma Eda. Shelby and Aiden are here from Michigan so Pam brought them over to visit for the day. Emma enjoyed getting to know her new little cousin. Aiden is only 6 months old, so Emma is the “older” great-grand child on the Gose side. I don’t know if she was crazy about that baby getting attention at first. We had went to lunch with Pam, Shelby and Aiden on Tuesday while we were in Spearfish. She didn’t mind Grandma holding the baby as long as I was giving her attention and kisses too, but when I handed Aiden over to Brianna, Emma freaked out! There was no way her momma was gonna hold another baby! Today though, she shared and gave attention pretty good with little Aiden. She didn’t even try to mug him for his bottle!
When we got back home to Grandma’s house, I turned on the TV and there was a Celine Dion concert on. I said “look Emma, she has a microphone too!” Emma was so excited, we got her microphone and she started yelling “Pa… Pa…” trying to get Grandpa to come down and see her singing and dancing like Celine was. Oh, did she have fun with dancing with the TV!! I had to laugh, she got to twirling so much she made herself dizzy. I think out of all the thousands of toys she has, that microphone is the most fun to watch her play with. She is so fun.
She looked so cute for Valentines day. Brianna and Emma went with me to Spearfish for my Doctors appointment. There was a little girl who turned 2 today at the doctors office and she was crying since she didn’t feel good. Emma really watched her as they were checking in and I told her that she was crying because she has a owie. When they sat down, Emma went over to her and seen her tears running down her cheeks. Emma went to the table and took a Kleenex and handed it to the little girl to wipe her tears and another for her nose. She tried to make her feel better, she is so sweet. The little girl then shared her baby doll with Emma only Emma didn’t really want to share back! Brianna finally had to go out and get Emma’s baby from the car so she wouldn’t keep taking off with the little girls doll. I did decide that Emma has no problem what so ever with shyness. She went around to just about everyone there, talking to them and blowing kisses bye to them. She had to show off her pretty sparkly pink shoes too.
Today she had to show off her socks to everyone. She had a sailor suit on and little socks with anchors, hearts and such on them. She sure is proud of them. She looks cute all the time, but when she is dressed up like that she is just like a little model. She loves her picture taken and to show off for the camera. I am glad since it is almost time to go get pictures taken again at Sears!

Well it is official now, no more bottles for Emmalyne. She isn’t happy about it either! She has taken on fit throwing, being a little stink and all around cranky when it is time for naps and she can’t have one. Yesterday at the doctors office she went as far as almost mugging a little boy over his bottle! Not really mugged him, but when his dad put the bottle in his bag, Emma was trying to get a hold of the bag. The poor little guy kept moving his bag away from her, letting her know it was "HIS".
We bought some new sippy cups for her today, making a big deal out of how big a girl she is now. She also enjoyed being a big girl playing at McDonalds play land, even if she wasn’t comfortable enough to actually get in and play with the other kids. She loved watching them come down the tunnel slide. Cassie's friend Brittney and her two daughters, Journey and Jovi joined us. The girls are 2 and 3 so Emma was thrilled to have little playmates.
We spent the day today with Cassie. I don’t think Cassie has ever witnessed one of Emma’s temper tantrums until Brianna told her she couldn’t have another cookie! Cassie’s eyes grew really big and she looked at me in shock. I had to laugh though. Emma has such a strong personality just like Cassie and as soon as she has her words down she will be just as bossy as Cassie was ( or is) I am sure.
On the way home I had a KitKat candy bar and gave her a piece of it. We were going down the road visiting and we heard “Ahem…. Ahem!!…” from the back seat. Emma was letting us know she was ready for another piece of candy bar. I was laughing and said “say ‘candy please’” She smiled and said in the sweetest voice “please”. Of course she got her candy! Which she ate, then drank a bit of her milk from her sippy cup and promptly fell fast asleep cuddled up to her baby doll. She really is an angel… even though at times her horns have to hold it up a bit.
Today was a first in the 26 years I have known Kevin. Emma fell and banged her head on the table and she started crying and went to her grandpa to be cuddled and babied! He picked her up and patted her bottom, asking where it hurt and all in all making her feel better! He always gotten after me for babying the kids, so he is mellowing in his old age. Of course Emma still had to come to Grandma for a little extra dose of healing love though. Who would have thought, Grandpa Kevin could be nurturing!
