July 15, 2009

It has been a busy few weeks. It is hard to believe that the summer is half over now! Emma hasn't gotten as much time playing in the pool as she did last year, seems we are always on the go.

On the 4Th of July we went to Belle Fourche SD to the carnival. Emma really enjoyed herself. She won the water gun fight where you shoot the water in the clown's mouth until you pop the balloon. She was pretty proud of herself with that. She loved the Farris wheel and the roller coaster but the fun house seemed to be her favorite. The funniest was the big bears that had the wheel to make you spin around. She went with her parents on it and when they came off she told me "We were in the big bear and we went round and round and round and mommy said 'stop the bear, I'm gonna throw up!'" I got such a kick out of it all. Cassie had to take her on the big slide which was suppose to be like Raiders of the lost ark. They had to climb a rope ladder which was funny to watch since Emma couldn't do it and Cassie had to hold her while she did, but Cassie was dressed in a long jean skirt and flip flops. I don't think that Cassie enjoyed that as much as Emma. Later we went to Grandma Mert and Grandpa Lee's to shoot off fireworks. We got a tour of their new camper which is bigger then Brianna and Jordan's apartment, well minus one bedroom. It was really nice and Emma thought she should take a nap in it. Of course she had to go potty while in there. It has a electric fireplace in one corner of the living room that is remote control. Emma thought that was really cool and when my mom turned it off, she got upset and insisted it be turned back on. She danced around the living room and checked out all the cubby holes. She even put her dolly in one to see if it would fit.

Last weekend we went to Douglas to celebrate Chloe's first birthday. Emma had a blast being the "big kid" and mothered the two little ones every chance she got. She enjoyed spending the night with Aunt Terri also. On the way down she didn't sleep at all. Aunt Pam rode with us and Emma being in the middle of the back seat put her feet on the arm rest between the front seats. There was a deer that had been hit on the side of the road and Pam saw it and said "ewww.. oh ewww" Emma being in the back covered her face in embarrassment and said "those are just my toes" She thought Pam was saying ewww about her feet stinking. We are still laughing over that.

Emma has been really working up her imagination and so funny with it. She is a smart little one who always surprises us with her outlook at things. She always claims there is ghosts here and there and telling us that daddy doesn't like to fly or telling stories on mommy. In the restaurant yesterday she insisted she wanted salad for lunch. I ordered her her chicken strips and fries and gave her some of my salad. She ate all the salad and all the fries and about half of her chicken strips. That isn't to bad for someone who doesn't like vegetables.... guess she doesn't realize that salad is vegetables. She also was talking about flying. I told her I had flown in a airplane to where Mickey mouse lived. She was especially impressed when I told her that the princesses live there too... and Donald duck.. and pirates and when I told her that there were ghosts there too, her eyes grew big and said "no!" She is so funny.

August 8Th Brianna and I are going to take her to Casper to see Elmo's Green Thumb. I can't wait. We are in the 3rd row in the gold circle so she will get to see the characters up close. She knows we have the tickets to something but she doesn't understand she will get to actually see Elmo! I hope I can get pictures of her with Elmo.
We have had a lot of rain the last few days and I put Emma in old clothes and let her run around in the mud barefoot. She had her shovel and bucket and would scoop up some mud and put it in her bucket. She would show me the shovel full of mud and say "just look at it" I said "what is it?" and she would say "alligator poop" Where she gets these things I am not so sure.
She has to be one of the sweetest little girls there ever was. She will say "I love you grandma" just out of the blue and I will say "I love you too sweetheart" and she will say "I love you to pieces" She is as perfect as they come.
