My prayers are going out to Brianna, her mother and family and my dear little Emmalyne who at just 22 months lost one of her beloved grandpas. Grandpa Ron passed away on Monday and the funeral is tomorrow. May God watch over them all.
I have been watching Emma for most part for the past 3 weeks while the kids spent time with Ron in the hospital and last week for the Ham and Jam and funeral planning. I sure enjoy my time with her but wished it was for a happier reason.
Emma has been so funny, she is growing up so fast. She is a smart little bugger for sure. She knows how to get around her grandma quite well. I have found that rocking her and singing to her will put her to sleep really fast, but she has figured this out also. I tried rocking her the other day for a nap and when I started singing she stuck her fingers in her ears!
She also is so honest. I know we teach our kids unwittingly to lie. When Emma started throwing her food, I asked her to stop. Finally I took her plate away and she wanted it back. I asked her “are you going to throw food?” She smiled at me, mischief in her eyes and answered “Yes”
When I was giving her a bath, I put the little basketball hoop up on the side of the tub and she had a blast throwing her balls in it. She was doing ok with it but when she missed one she gave a chuckle and said “Dude!” She sounded just like aunt Cassie.
When she heard that Cassie was going to come spend the night she got so excited and watched out the window for her saying “Cassie?” over and over. I was sure glad that Cassie did come over to stay over night.
Dunstin Checks In is her favorite movie. She wants to watch it over and over, then gives raspberries for days after watching it.
She has learned to force a burp like Aunt Cassie. Who would have thought my little girls would have such a rude behavior??
We took her to the fair and rodeo and she loved my niece and nephew's miniture horses. She also helped the magician with a magic trick in which she held a pan and everyone put in pretend ingredients to bake a cake. The magician kept putting in more and more pretend flour and then stirred the pot. Emma looked a bit confused with the stirring the empty pot but she plays pretend in her kitchen enough to know that game. Afterwards the magician put on the lid and said some magic words over the pot. When she took off the lid there was a great big flower that popped out. Emma was really surprised by that. I had to laugh!
